Our perfect weekend - March 7 & 8, 2020

March 6th 2020

A new restaurant, a must-see exhibition, a cool event, an idea on how to enjoy well-deserved me time at home or outside, the hottest party of the weekend … every week, we are sharing our weekend plans or asking one of our friend or readers living in town to share his/her with you, helping you to make the most of your weekend from the moment you wake-up on Saturday morning to the moment you go to bed on Sunday night

Saturday

Our perfect weekend - March 7 & 8, 2020
My weekend plans have changed quite significantly over the past few months. I’m currently pregnant with my first child and had to slow down on Friday nights out. I’m now enjoying hangover-free Saturday mornings. I usually kick off the day with a class, sometimes even two in a row, at my studio Barre 2 Barre

I then meet my boyfriend, who is also coming from the gym (or straight from his bed if he had a festive Friday night), at the wet market on Gage Street so that we can stock on fresh fruits and vegetables for the week ahead. We are all about batch cooking and meal planning, it helps us keep a rather healthy and balanced diet on weekdays so that we can fully indulge on weekends. If I feel like I need a shot of energy, I grab a coffee from NOC on Graham Street.

For lunch, we like to keep it simple:

Our perfect weekend - March 7 & 8, 2020
a croque-monsieur at Metropolitain in Sai Yin Pun, a pasta dish and an Aperol Spritz at Pici on Aberdeen Street, literally two minutes from our place, or the perfect weekend brunch at Le Bistro Winebeast in Wan Chai.

If it’s sunny, I hop on a cab and head to the beach. I’m a city girl, grew-up in Paris, yet I love nothing more than being in a bikini on the beach, soaking up the sun. If the weather is gloomy or rainy then it gives us an excuse to stay at home and cook while watching Netflix.

My Saturday night plans are usually very last minute. One of our friends send a WhatsApp asking who’s in for a drink, other friends are hosting diner at their place, someone wants to try a new restaurant … I also love a romantic date. But lately, I’ve been missing a good old night out. I wouldn’t say no to drinking (slightly) too much G&T at Pastis while dancing and singing my heart out on French songs and can’t wait to be able to go back for a Yashoku night brunch at Zuma.

Sunday

Our perfect weekend - March 7 & 8, 2020
I love my Sunday mornings when I can spend them being lazy in bed. I usually wakes up together with my boyfriend, then let him do his stuffs (aka watch some basketball games) in the living room while going back for another round of sleep and secretly hoping he will go buy some croissants at Eric Kayser for when I finally get out of bed. Which he often does! Sometimes we plan ahead and order our breakfast from Le Petit Croissant … always a great idea!

The rest of the day is always open to last minute plans but I like to make sure and save myself some free time at the end of the day so that I can finalize Hong Kong Madame’s weekly round-up newsletter which goes out every Tuesday morning and also pamper with a mani/pedi in a salon and/or a shamppo, hair mask, face mask and body scrub at home.
