THE PAWN: refined dinner in this well-known heritage building

November 3rd 2016

Every Hong-Konguese know this 19th century heritage building, but have you ever entered the place? If the answer is No, don’t wait longer, it’s worth it. The place is superb, the terrace is lovely and pleasant, dishes are refined and service is just perfect, friendly and professional.

The complex is spread over 3-storeys: 1st floor is a relaxed living room for drinks, 2nd floor is the restaurant and at the top is the roof garden where the chef grows its own veggies and herbs. I’ve only been to the 2nd one.

Let’s go to the terrace where our table has been booked. Calm, green, covered, it’s just the right place for romantic dinners or an evening with a couple of best friends. Rainy day? Don’t worry about it, the interior is nicely designed, modern and spacious.

What about the food? The plates look pretty and refined as well. Recipes are simple but very well executed and perfectly cooked. As a seafood expert I am not disappointed by my confit salmon, nor the baked cod. Please don’t leave before the desserts, they are awesome. We totally fell in love with the rhubarb parfait and could have easily ordered a second one.

Conclusion ? Delicious food, very nice service and lovely place. You will definitely spend a pleasant evening.
