The Peninsula Hong Kong x Star Ferry: two local legends join hands to create a quintessential Hong Kong five-star hospitality experience
by Aude Camus

Also known as the Grande Dame of the city, The Peninsula Hong Kong celebrates its 95 anniversary this year. 95 years of refined elegance, five-star hospitality and legendary parties. The flagship property of The Peninsula Hotels group, and the first ever hotel under The Peninsula brand, has seen the turbulent times and epochal events that Hong Kong as trudged through and as such it’s a piece of the city’s history and heritage. So is the Star Ferry, which has been cruising the waters of Victoria Harbour since 1888. A collaboration between the two icons seemed only fitted and it’s now done with the launch of the limited time only “Luxury Voyage” collaboration.

From 31 March until 2 July 2023, you can hop aboard the “World Star” – a beautifully appointed Star Ferry, to experience a quintessential Hong Kong teatime or a sunset cruise boasting panoramic views of the Hong Kong Island’s skyline.

As one of Hong Kong’s most legendary afternoon teas, the acclaimed Peninsula Classic Afternoon Tea – served daily in The Lobby to the sound of live string instruments, is a must do for tourists and locals willing to enjoy a timeless moment, reminiscent of the colonial era, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Scoring a table during weekends isn’t an easy task. Thanks to The Peninsula Hong Kong x Star Ferry collaboration, you’re invited to book a table to enjoy this quintessential experience with the bonus of cruising the waters of Victoria Harbour. The hotel’s famous raison scones, served with clotted cream and jam, are obviously on the menu. They’re served alongside a series of canapes and nautical-themed sweet bites specially curated for the occasion. A singer and two musicians are here to keep you entertained, paying a modern, dynamic tribute to the Peninsula’s tradition of serving tea with live music.
