Upper Modern Bistro: Sheung Wan's latest chic/French style restaurant
An amazing team (including the chef Philippe Orrico), great little dishes and really good decor. We're convinced! The restaurant is big and airy with large bay windows which look out over the road. There are some great little design details too like the funky light and dark grey oval shapes which cover the whole ceiling, the mirrors arranged underneath (just a little tip for you sensitive souls- we felt a bit sea sick, so pay attention to where you sit!) We also love open kitchens just at the restaurant entrance, the wooden floors and the design chairs! Food wise, we were pretty impressed too! The crab and tomato salad is delicious and very original, (really different from what we'd imagined!) Another favourite was the macaroni and artichoke gratin. No need to even talk about the desserts- they were all delicious! We'll wait for you to tell us what you think about orange salad and the warm mini chocolate cakes... So here's to a beautiful brand new restaurant and definitely a place to spend some good evenings ahead!
