The Spa Edit (October 2025): Treatments I’m Loving Right Now

From a face-lifting facial at The Peninsula to a sculpting massage and a Thai herbal ritual — three experiences that truly deliver.

Words by Aude Camus

Between work, motherhood (hello again, late-night feeds —  I didn’t miss you) and the constant buzz of Hong Kong life, I’ve been leaning into self-care more than ever. Carving out an hour (or two) to switch off and recharge has become my little act of sanity — and honestly, I’ve realised that investing in good treatments isn’t just indulgence, it’s maintenance.

This month, I’ve tried a few that truly stood out: a facial so sculpting it felt like a mini workout for the face, a dynamic body massage that left my postnatal legs feeling light again, and a Thai ritual that melted tension from head to toe. Whether you’re chasing radiance, circulation, or deep calm, here are three treatments I loved lately — and why you might too.

The Peninsula Facial by Margy’s — The Peninsula Hong Kong

The Spa Edit (October 2025): Treatments I’m Loving Right Now
When two icons of luxury — The Peninsula and Margy’s Monte Carlo — team up, you know it’s not going to disappoint. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of their partnership, the two brands have launched The Peninsula Facial by Margy’s, an exclusive treatment that’s all about results-driven opulence.

I’ve had my fair share of facials, but what sets this one apart is the massage technique. You can literally feel your face being sculpted under the therapist’s expert fingers, especially around the cheeks. There’s a deep, rhythmic motion that somehow manages to feel both soothing and invigorating at once — a little workout for your facial muscles, but with a luxury twist.

Beyond the treatment itself, the experience at The Peninsula Spa is pure bliss. Before or after your facial, you get access to the spa’s serene facilities, complete with a tranquil resting area overlooking Victoria Harbour and warm and cold plunge pools in the changing rooms — a treat in itself.

Duration & Price: 90 minutes — HK$3,880 (Mon–Thu) / HK$3,980 (Fri–Sun & public holidays)
Where: The Peninsula Spa and Wellness Centre, The Peninsula Hong Kong

Sculpting Massage & Miracle Face — Renata França Treatments at Central & Stanley Wellness

The Spa Edit (October 2025): Treatments I’m Loving Right Now
Five weeks postpartum, my body was craving care and reconnection. Enter the Renata França method, a Brazilian-born technique famous for its firm, rhythmic, and deeply effective lymphatic drainage massages. Central & Stanley Wellness is one of the only places in Hong Kong offering it  — under the expert fingers of Ludivine Bonamy.

The Sculpting Massage is dynamic and energising. It’s not one of those gentle, nap-through-it massages — it’s active, intentional, and incredibly effective. I could feel the fluid retention melting away, my legs feeling lighter and my upper thighs visibly less tight (a welcome bonus when you’re squeezing back into denim shorts after pregnancy). It’s the kind of treatment that makes you feel taller, leaner, and more at ease in your own body.

I followed up with the Miracle Face, a more relaxing yet equally effective facial massage that had me drifting off halfway through. The next morning, despite another short night, my skin looked fresher and more luminous — the kind of natural glow that no concealer can fake.

Duration & Price:
Sculpting Massage — 60 minutes, HK$1,680
Miracle Face — 30 minutes, HK$840
Where: Central Wellness Clinique, 6/F, 15 On Lan Street, Central

Thai Herbal Compress Massage — Iyara

The Spa Edit (October 2025): Treatments I’m Loving Right Now
Sometimes, all you want is comfort — and the Thai Herbal Compress Massage at Iyara is exactly that. Performed by a therapist from Chiang Mai, it combines traditional Thai techniques and deep stretching with the healing warmth of steamed herbal compresses.

The treatment starts and ends with a dynamic Thai massage — lots of pressure, movement, and assisted stretches that feel almost like yoga. Then comes the relaxing part: warm herbal pouches are rolled and pressed over your body, releasing the scent of turmeric, lemongrass, kaffir lime, and eucalyptus. The heat seeps into your muscles, easing away every trace of tension while the herbal blend works to boost circulation and detoxify.

It’s one of those treatments that strikes the perfect balance between therapeutic and indulgent. I walked out feeling loose, light, and enveloped in the most soothing herbal aroma — like my body had been gently reset.

Duration & Price: 60 minutes – HK$780 / 90 minutes – HK$1,100
Where: Iyara Central Spa, 1/F, 26 Cochrane Street, Central

Final Thoughts

What I love about all three of these treatments is how they each go beyond surface-level pampering. Whether it’s the sculpting precision of Margy’s facial, the circulation-boosting power of Renata França’s technique, or the grounding warmth of Iyara’s herbal compress, each one left me feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to myself.

So, if your body (or mind) has been sending you a few SOS signals lately, consider this your sign to book that treatment. Trust me — you’ll walk out not just glowing, but truly renewed.
