Summer of fun for the kids at Hong Kong’s hotels offering family-friendly staycation packages and summer camps

Stuck in Hong Kong, like I am, with the kids this summer? Take a deep breath, I have rounded-up kid-friendly staycations and activities for you to create long-lasting memories with the fam. Let’s make it a summer to remember (not because we can’t travel home to see our relatives and friends but because we’re having a great time nonetheless).
 

With no less than two pools and an ample number of lounge beds, Four Seasons Hong Kong invites the little ones to splash around while their parents laze in the sun. When come the hottest hours of the day, you can retreat to your room where virtual activities such as Bingo Time and Bedtime Stories, and board games available on demand, will keep the kids entertained. What’s more is that the hotel also features an indoor playroom and offer BMW kids car racer in the hotel (on weekends only). On weekends, kids staying at the hotel can also join complimentary activities such as sand-sational art, nail art and fitness class.
 
With its outdoor playground and tropical greenery framed 50-metre outdoor swimming pool, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is always a popular option among families. 

And for an extra dose of fun, the hotel has prepared an extravaganza of fun activities for in-house guests of all ages to enjoy until 22 August. Cue dim sum making class, art jamming session, balloon twisting workshop, aroma candle workshop, pop-up photo studio, perfume blending workshop and more. And because I personally think a staycation wouldn’t be perfect without a little gourmet indulgence, I recommend booking the Steakhouse Delicious USA Staycation package. You’ll be treated to a premium set dinner for two (for a little night out without the kids) at the Grand Hyatt Steakhouse. The star of this gourmet show? A cut of USDA prime beef. The package also includes late check-out from Monday to Thursday, daily breakfast, American-themed welcome amenities and a complimentary tour of Nature Discovery Park at K11 MUSEA.
 

Island Shangri-La also has a staycation package – the Fam-tabulous Time - that is sure to keep the kids busy with daily access to one of the hotel’s kids activities: gymnastic class for children aged three to 14 by ProActiv Sports, STEM workshops for children aged 3 to 11 organised by Mochy Group and creative academic courses led by Baker & Bloom Education Center.  Other perks of the package include the daily breakfast for two adults and one child, HKD 1,000 hotel credit per night, a 24-hour stay from check-in time and more.

The Deep Blue room is inspired by the South China Sea and will have kids build fantasy structures with the Big Blue Blocks while the Mad Space room is inspired by a space station where kids can enjoy a movie night or a quiet rad with a book from the Space Station-themed cabinet. Last but not least is the Play Lab where kids can unleash their creativity.
