Taking over the 20/F floor of M88 that once hosted the beloved FoFo by El Willy, Quiero Mas is bringing sangria back on Wellington Street along with modern Mediterranean bites.

Interior Design

Quiero Mas: Sip, Sup, Social restaurant in Central
The 3,000-square-foot space with interior design imagined by Hernan Zanghellini, the man behind venues such as The Verandah at The Peninsula Hong Kong, Wooloomooloo Steakhouse in both Wan Chai and TST, The Bar at The Peninsula Hong Kong, Sugar in Quarry Bay and more, is warm and welcoming with beautiful cobalt blue and turquoise tones combined with warm oak flood. Start, and end, your dinner at the candle-lit cocktail lounge before making your way to the dining room where both window-side and private booth, with leather banquette, seating await for you.

The view from the 20/F never disappoints and is the perfect backdrop to a social brunch with friends or a romantic dinner. I went there on a Monday night and loved the vibrant vibe so I can imagine how even more pleasant it must be towards the end of the week.

Food

The curated selection of Mediterranean dishes draws inspiration from not only Spain but also Italy, with trattoria favourites such as Carbonara (HKD 178) pappardelle or the Red Snapper Robespierre (HKD 290). However, the menu clearly has a distinct Spanish flow and if you’re in the mood for Jamon Iberico, Pan con Tomate, Tapas and Paella you’ve come to the right place.

Must-order dishes:

The Bikini Sobrasada (HKD 110), Catalunya’s famous ham & cheese mini sandwich here spiced up with Majorca’s chorizo paste, cheese and rosemary scented Greek honey. Truly decadent. By the way, in case you’re wondering, this little addictive treat doesn’t take it name from the two-piece swimsuit but from Sala Bikini, the Barcelona’s bar that made it famous. In 1953, Sala Bikini’s owner started to import croque-monsieur from France but the country was under Franco’s dictatorship and it was prohibited to use English or French words. The croque-monsieur was therefore called “el bocadillo de la casa” or the “Bikini bocadillo” literally meaning the “sandwich of the house”. Over time, the “Bikini bocadillo” became simple the bikini and it is now a common word for tapas sandwiches.

The Dos Dias Patatas (HKD 98) is a yummy take on classic patatas bravas where a crispy potato millefeuille replace the traditional potato cube but it still comes with the traditional spicy sauce.

The Paella Barcelona (HKD 398), a coastal classic that never gets old. Cue saffron-infused rice that is slightly crispy on the sides and at the bottom but real soft at the centre of the plate, shrimps, mussels, clams and just a spoon of garlic aioli.
