My favourite Christmas family experience in Hong Kong is back for 2026
Words by Aude Camus

There are Christmas traditions, and then there are the ones you’re not quite ready to let go of. At my house, a visit to Santa’s Secret Kingdom at Island Shangri-La has become one of them, and you can bet we’ll be back this year.

Now that my eldest daughter is six, I have a sneaking suspicion this might be the last Christmas she truly believes in Santa. Naturally, I’m committed to keeping the magic alive for as long as humanly possible. Thank goodness her little sister is only one, giving me at least a few more years of perfectly legitimate excuses to book our tickets!

Back for the 2026 festive season, Enchanted Adventure invites little ones and their grown-ups into Santa’s Secret Kingdom for an hour of Christmas wonder. Expect a musical game, a paper lantern workshop, arts and crafts to take home, and, of course, a special family moment with Santa himself. There’s even the promise of a personalised letter straight from the North Pole.

Tickets start at HK$648 per family experience, depending on the date, and are available via Shangri-La Boutique.

For a shorter but equally magical encounter, Meet Santa returns to the hotel lobby from 5 to 26 December, with a framed photograph and a little gift to remember the occasion. Tickets cost HK$358 on weekdays or HK$398 on weekends and festive days, for up to four guests. Booking opens on 2 November via Shangri-La Boutique.

Having experienced it ourselves, I can confidently say Santa’s Secret Kingdom is one of the highlights of Hong Kong’s festive calendar for families – quite possibly the highlight. If you’re looking for a little Christmas magic to sprinkle over December, consider this your sign to book.

And if you need convincing, you can have a peek at our own festive adventure in last year’s Reel.
