BEDU celebrates three years of Bedouin-style hospitality in Hong Kong

Madame Digests – November 2021
Our favourite Middle-Eastern restaurant in town BEDU is turning three this November and they are celebrating with whipping up a feast. The three-course weekday lunch will now rotate monthly to spotlight in-season ingredients while eight new dishes, inspired by the culinary cultures of wandering desert tribes, are making their debuts at the Sheung Wan restaurant. I have my fork ready to dig in the Three Yellow Chicken Tagine (HKD 800) and the Cuttlefish Mujaddara (HKD 180), a classic Lebanese recipe featuring cooked lentils with rice, caramelised onions and sesame.

The restaurant has also recently opened Little BEDU, its takeaway-only concept located just a stone throw away from the main restaurant, inviting you to enjoy a mouth-watering choice of salads and hearty rice bowls packed with vibrant Mediterranean flavours.

LPM Restaurant & Bar presents a cocktail menu inspired by the life and work of Jean Cocteau

Madame Digests – November 2021
Designed by LPM Global Bar Manager Tibor Krascsenics, “Recipes for our Friends” is a 12-cocktail and 6-mocktail menu paying tribute to the life and work of French artist and writer Jean Cocteau. Divided in four chapters, just like a novel, the menu embarks you on an exploration of four places Cocteau’s once called home - Maisons-Laffitte where he was born, Hotel Welcome, the hotel he always stayed at in the South East of France, Milly-la-Forêt where he spent his last years. Each cocktail and mocktail tells a story of a person or an event that marked Cocteau’s colourful life such as the Lettre à Coco (HKD 150) – Ketel One vodka, Champagne cordials, jasmine, bergamot, rose – an homage to Cocteau’s friendship with Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel with flavours mirroring Chanel’s signature perfume.
