But in how many ways have you tried Matcha before? Not that much right? Matcha tea, Matcha latte, Matcha cake … anything else? What about rediscovering Matcha?
Aqua invites you to experience Made x Matcha, the next generation of Matcha Creations shaking your summer with unique combinations and new tastes. Oh and the incredible view from Aqua is a nice plus to this beautiful experience.
Shall we start with a round of Matcha Colada (HKD 158)? I mean, can you really resist to a velvety elixir mixing together Tanqueray No.TEN Gin, dark Crème De Cacao, Coco Lopez coconut cream and fresh pineapple served in a Matcha dusted coupe? I cannot. I actually had more than one round of this one. Oupsie. Or you can also go for the Matcha Zen cocktail (HKD 158), a blend of Tanqueray No. TEN Gin, sake, fresh lime, passionfruit, shiso leaf and homemeade Matcha syrup. I did not try this one, was to focus on the Matcha Colada addictive one!

And after a few rounds of cocktails you’ll definitely need a bit of food. Starting with the White Miso Seared Unagi Matcha sushi (HKD 108). The rice is cooked with Matcha giving it a nice and very delicate flavour while the eel is perfectly grilled and super tender. Yummy!
And then comes the dish I was looking forward to trying: Risotto served with Lobster Tail, Shimeji Mushrooms and Matcha Emulsion (HKD 348). A Matcha Risotto, intriguing right? Well, it is so good! Not at all what I was expecting but so yummy, the Arborio rice being simmered and a Matcha and flavour intense fish broth.
Dessert, Matcha Ice Cream with Yuzu Curd, Matcha Sponge and Italian meringue (HKD 128) was less my thing: not as surprising and new as the other dishes and I really found the Matcha sponge too bitter. But anyway, I have always preferred savoury things.
