La Fromagerie

Breaking news for all cheese lovers in town (and I know there are quite a lot), there is a new cheesy place in town and you are going to love this one. Are you the kind of person who can easily swap a full meal for a cheese platter? Are you sometimes (if not often) disappointed by the cheese offer in Hong Kong? Are you the kind of person who says “the more it stinks, the better it is”? If so, you are going to love La Fromagerie !

A wine and cheese bar, exactly what was missing to Soho dining scene! But not just any cheese and wine bar, because when it comes to cheese things are pretty serious (yes, I am that kind of girl who does not like to mess up with cheese). Just like they say:
A Brie have to be creamy but not liquide.
A Saint-Nectaire have to be soft but not creamy.
A Saint-Marcelin can be creamy but not dry.
What make them special? They are refining masters and buying their cheeses directly from producers in France. They sure know what they do. Just give it a go, you’ll see: love at first bite. I may have falling deeply in love with a Perail, a sheep milk cheese with a soft and creamy texture but an earthy taste. Never thought my next heavy cheese crush would happen in Hong Kong!

And if you are a proper cheese lover, you know that the best way to enjoy it is with a glass of wine. Well they got that cover for you too. My suggestion? Check the wine wall and the rotating selection of featured wines. Or ask the staff, they will be happy to help you.

What else? A short menu with few cheesy options such as the fried Camembert (OMG), the cheese tart or the Croque-Monsieur but also some upcoming salads options for those eager to go for something else than cheese (but seriously guys?), the possibility to order your cheese platter take-away (knowing that La Fromagerie is on my way back home after work I got a feeling that a few cheese platter nights are in the pipe) and last but not least a place that is great to host private tastings. I am pretty sure we are going to hear a lot about La Fromagerie in the next few weeks.
