LANDMARK brings festive cheers to Hong Kong with a European-style Christmas market
by Aude Camus

Is the first week of November too early to think about Christmas? I don’t think so. I love the end of the year festivities and seeing the year we just had I do think we deserve an extra dose of festivities and treats. Right?

I will unfortunately not travel to Europe this year but I am still determined in living a perfect European-style Christmas. I want mulled wine, Champagne, chocolate bonbons, Panettone, Christmas carols and so on. And if you are just like me, you are going to love the European-style Christmas Market at LANDMARK.

On third floor of LANDMARK ATRIUM, you are invited to enter into a veritable Santa’s grotto full of festive cheers and shopping booths where to stock on yummy and boozy treats and festive gifts. Grab a (complimentary) glass of mulled wine before you enter the space and discover the rows of Christmas trees and other captivating Christmas decors that are setting the tone.

And now it’s time to wander the booths while enjoying the smell of pine trees and mulled wine and listening to the Christmas carols.

Are you in the mood for something yummy? Make sure to stop by LMO Freshly Baked by Richad Ekkebus, an exclusive pop-up from the acclaimed chef of Amber where he will be serving fresh from the oven baked goods inspired by his favourite childhood desserts. A different item will be available every hour from opening to closing time of the Christmas market and the selection includes Amalfi lemon madeleines or vanilla and sea salt financiers. Reminded me of my own childhood too! Another must stop-by booth is the Cookie Department’s one where you, unfortunately, won’t find the brand’s very decadent cookies (but you can always head to Basehall, pretty close from there, to grab one) but will have an opportunity to get your hands on the Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie baking kit that promises family-fun and cheers in the kitchen. A little bird also told me that the brand will be dropping new exclusive items every week including a chocolate scented candle so watch the space. Any chocolate lovers out there? Make sure to stop by La Maison du Chocolat booth to enjoy assorted chocolates, glazed chesnuts (the ultimate sweet festive treat if you ask me) and discover their beautiful Cracker Advent Calendar and/or enjoy the Hong Kong’s debuts of British chocolatier Charbonnel et Walker. Festive hampers from Mandarin Oriental are also available and you might also wanna get your hands on some caviar from Reign Abalone House for a luxurious Christmas.

Looking for something boozy to raise a toast to the end of a crappy year? I would personally always go for Champagne and Sake Central has a few very interesting bubbly options on top of their Sake selection and spirits lovers will find something they love be it exclusive independent whiskies from The Whisky Library or gin from Dr Fern’s.

And because Christmas is not only about food and booze, you will also find on the market: Christmas ornaments from Indigo Living, festive tableware by Town House, leather Italian-made accessories from Senreve or Christmas sweaters (yeah!) from Polo by Ralph Lauren.

I don’t know about you but I’m feeling all merry and bright!
