Here is a place with a very unpretentious name. Just a Restaurant, or JAR. If you haven’t yet tried it out, you should! As its name doesn’t imply, JAR isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a cosy place for catching up on news with your girl friends or prince charming after filling your stomach. We came, we saw, we were conquered! The surroundings with the feminine touch, the unassuming art deco design, the walls with painted bricks, efficient and friendly staff and good food. Who could ask for more? We fell for the little bundle of fabric that is used as a bread basket. So cute and astute! Warm stones are hidden in the lining to keep the bread rolls warm. The set lunch’s salad buffet is to die for. The baby spinach salad and the grilled green and yellow zuchini are worthy of a special mention. They alone could have satisfied us! We then tried out the capellini and prawns, tasty but slightly greasy. The Angus burger was very good and plentiful. Perfect if you are starving! The dessert of the day, cinnamon cake, allowed us to finish off on a sweet light note. If you are not a dessert person, go for the ice cream. A little coffee and you’ll be all set for the afternoon! We’ll definitely go back there for dinner! And we also fancy tasting JAR’s brunch. Apparently, it’s not “just a brunch”!
