Hong Kong Madame’s Back-to-Work To-Do List

Five chic ways to ease back into city life after summer

August 19th 2025

Words by Aude Camus

Back to work doesn’t have to mean back to the grind. September in Hong Kong is all about easing yourself gently from beach days and Aperol spritzes into the school run and boardrooms — ideally with a few indulgent pit stops along the way.

And there you have it: five ways to glide back into the city routine with a little indulgence, a little culture, and maybe just the right touch of chocolate.

Hit refresh with a Margy’s Monte Carlo facial at The Peninsula

Hong Kong Madame’s Back-to-Work To-Do List
Whether you spent your summer soaking up the sun and sea in Europe, or the aircon in Hong Kong, your skin is probably crying out for some TLC (tender loving care). The Peninsula Hong Kong has just the antidote: The Peninsula Facial by Margy’s Monte Carlo. Created by skincare legend Margie Lombard herself, this 90-minute treatment is designed to tone, lift, and rejuvenate using her signature rhythmic massage techniques and collagen-boosting products formulated in Switzerland. The result? Skin that looks plump, luminous, and as if the summer indulgences never happened.

In honour of The Peninsula and Margy’s 10-year partnership, there’s a celebratory offer this month — valid until 30 September 2025: enjoy 25% off your first treatment, or receive a complimentary fifth session when purchasing four. Priced at HK$3,880 from Monday to Thursday, and HK$3,980 on weekends and public holidays (plus service charge), it’s the ultimate back-to-work reset.

Mark the diary: Caprice’s 20th anniversary dinners

Hong Kong Madame’s Back-to-Work To-Do List
If September had a gastronomic highlight, this would be it. Three-Michelin-starred Caprice at Four Seasons Hong Kong turns 20 this year, and Executive Chef Guillaume Galliot is celebrating in spectacular style. Over three evenings (18–20 September), he’ll be joined by an extraordinary line-up of culinary friends — chefs representing a total of 23 Michelin stars between them — to craft once-in-a-lifetime menus. Expect everything from roasted Challans duck to langoustine by Stéphanie Le Quellec (La Scène, Paris), pasta by Umberto Bombana, and creations from culinary greats across Europe and Asia. And let’s not forget the sweet finale: patisserie masterminds including Jean-François Feuillette and Dej Kewkacha (Asia’s Best Pastry Chef 2025) will be behind dessert.
At HK$4,988 per person, these dinners aren’t everyday indulgences, but they are the kind of experiences you’ll be talking about for years. And really, what better way to kick off a new season than with a multi-starred feast? More info on the hotel’s website —  here .

Pause and breathe with Pañpuri’s Burnout Antidotes

Hong Kong Madame’s Back-to-Work To-Do List
The inbox is overflowing, the calendar is full, and your tan is fading — September can feel like a shock to the system. Enter Pañpuri , the Thai fragrance and wellness house, with its brand-new Burnout Antidotes Wellness Fragrance Series. Designed under their “Art of Slowness” philosophy, the collection invites you to pause, reset, and restore balance.

There are three scents, each as poetic as they are therapeutic: The First, warm and resinous with incense to instil strength; Kindred, a soft floral blend of rose and amber for calm and connection; and Intention, a grounding mix of lavender and sandalwood for focus. Pañpuri even collaborated with neuroscientists to test their effects on mood — science says they really do help reduce emotional fatigue. Available as perfume oils, diffusers, essential oils and more, they’re the kind of small ritual that makes a big difference when you’re running between school pick-ups and deadlines.

Available at Pañpuri boutiques and panpuri.com

Sweet escape: Pierre Marcolini opens at ifc

Hong Kong Madame’s Back-to-Work To-Do List
Back to work calls for back to chocolate. Luckily, Belgian chocolatier Pierre Marcolini has finally opened his first Hong Kong boutique, right in the heart of Central at ifc mall. Known for his bean-to-bar philosophy, Marcolini works directly with smallholder farms across eight origins to source cocoa that’s as sustainable as it is flavourful. The result? Dark chocolates layered with tropical fruit notes, smoky Cuban richness, or delicate floral aromas depending on the origin.

The boutique also carries his much-loved French-style macarons, pralines, and seasonal creations — all flown in from Brussels.

Tested and approved: the aptly named Petits Bonheurs, a collection of chocolate bonbons created from home-roasted grand crus chocolate available in Hazelnut praline (yum!), Coffee almond praline, Caramel praline and Gianduja.

Treasure your kids’ creativity with Kidvolio x Kids’ Gallery

Hong Kong Madame’s Back-to-Work To-Do List
If back-to-school has you drowning in piles of your children’s artwork, Kidvolio has the chicest solution: turning those masterpieces into high-quality keepsake books. This September, they’ve teamed up with Kids’ Gallery — the Hong Kong institution that’s been nurturing little Picassos for decades — to offer families a special edition art portfolio.

Students enrolled in Kids’ Gallery’s Regular Term Art Portfolio Course can order their own custom-made book featuring a full year of their creations. Parents can choose from two elegant layouts — one that lets the art take centre stage, and one more structured with curated captions. At HK$758 (valued at over HK$1,800), it’s a thoughtful way to preserve memories without stuffing another folder in the cupboard.

For creative kids, it’s a chance to see their work presented like a professional portfolio. For parents, it’s the ultimate clutter-free keepsake — one you’ll treasure far longer than the fridge door.
