Brunch @ Brasserie on the 8th : luxury for everybody

December 20th 2016

By Delphine

Today is Sunday, I dream of a huge seafood platter, foie gras and champagne (maybe because of all those Xmas and festive decorations everywhere), my husband wants Indian food when my daughter keeps asking for pasta and ravioli. Ouch, might be a bit hard to please everybody in this house. Let’s think….. I know ! Perfect timing to try the brunch at “Brasserie on the 8th”. I’ve heard of it so many times. Let’s go to the Conrad, up to the 8th floor.

We’re not even settled that our glasses are filled with Perrier-Jouet champagne. Mini-miss is already staring at the buffet, she noticed the pasta station. A very friendly Italian guy gives her some al dente tagliatelle Arrabiata. Huge smile!  My husband can’t resist the sushis, lobsters and crabs when I am attracted by the smell of currys and tandooris coming out of several pans. What about the eggs station, roasting meats, warm pastries or melting raclette? So many choices…. The hardest part is to make a selection…or not.

Be aware there are still a main and a dessert buffet, I recommend to keep some appetite for the yummy lamb or roasted cod.

Desserts ? A kid’s corner with chocolate fountain, lollypops, ice-creams and cookies is very successfull amongst the youngest. For us, mini crème brulées, chocolate tarts and macarons are all good.

Everybody’s happy, the bill is not so cheap, but once in a while, it’s so pleasant to have a really good and big brunch with family or friends.
