It’s one thing to host an art exhibition, but it’s another to build one that actually means something — that uplifts emerging voices, invites the community in, and sparks a deeper conversation around accessibility, culture and future creative careers. That’s exactly what Art Actions | Our Youth, Our Future is doing — now showing at Kennedy Town’s creative hub HART Haus.
The exhibition is the opening chapter of rén x HART Haus: Linking Our Youth with Art and Design Through Humanity, a new social initiative aiming to empower under-resourced youth through art and design. Think internships, part-time roles, mentorship opportunities, workshops, and exhibitions — all designed to foster connection, spark inspiration, and build bridges between creativity and career.
So, why should you go?
Because this isn’t just a gallery wall. It’s a window into the future of contemporary art — seen through the eyes of a new generation navigating memory, identity, diaspora and the emotional complexities of growing up in today’s fragmented world.
The exhibition brings together a compelling mix of international and local artists, including Daniel Roibal, Keisuke Azuma, Sin U Lam, and 2024 HART Award recipients Elsa Ngai, Kelly Kwok, and Kwok Wan San. Whether it’s Roibal’s meditative landscapes inspired by Japanese forest bathing, Azuma’s emotional canvases exploring self-perception, or Ngai’s mineral-pigment paintings blurring memory and reality — each piece quietly invites you to look closer, and reflect deeper.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong-based artists Kwok Wah San and Kelly Kwok use photography, installation, and still-life painting to explore the quiet rituals and everyday nuances of modern city life. Their work feels grounded and deeply human — the kind of art that doesn’t shout, but stays with you.
And that’s the magic of Art Actions. It’s not just a beautiful exhibition — it’s a statement. About inclusivity. About the role of art in shaping a more empathetic, connected world. And about what happens when we give young creatives the space, tools, and audience they deserve.
This summer, swap yet another afternoon in the mall for a dose of creative energy that feels purposeful. Bonus: the exhibition is free, and visits are by appointment — meaning you’ll get to experience the works in peace and quiet, without the crowd.
Come with an open mind, leave with a full heart.
