If you follow me on Instagram , you'll already know how much I love Louise . It's one of those restaurants I happily return to time and time again, whether it's for a leisurely lunch, a special dinner or simply an excuse to spend an afternoon on what is, in my opinion, one of the prettiest terraces in Hong Kong. Tucked away inside PMQ, surrounded by lush greenery and sheltered from the city's constant buzz, it somehow manages to feel like a little escape every single time.
So, when I was invited to explore the partnership between Louise and Christofle – a limited-time Riviera-inspired dining experience – I was intrigued.
Not just because it gave me another excuse to revisit one of my favourite restaurants, but because it also introduced me to a French maison I'd always known by name, yet never really taken the time to discover.
Growing up in France, Christofle is one of those iconic names you simply recognise. For almost two centuries, its silverware has graced family homes, grand hotels and some of the world's most beautiful dining tables. Yet beyond its heritage, I realised I knew surprisingly little about how the brand had evolved– or how it continues to make beautiful tableware feel relevant today. As I quickly discovered, this collaboration is the perfect example.
Rather than simply showcasing a new collection, Christofle has transformed the table into part of the experience. Its new Malmaison Riviera porcelain collection takes inspiration from the Mediterranean, with cheerful shades of sunshine yellow and delicate hand-painted motifs that instantly evoke long lunches on the Côte d'Azur. Elegant? Absolutely. But also refreshingly relaxed. It's a lovely reminder that beautiful tableware isn't something to save for special occasions – it's something that can elevate the everyday joy of sharing a meal.
And if there's one restaurant in Hong Kong that embodies that philosophy, it's Louise.
For the collaboration, Executive Chef Loïc Portalier has created a menu inspired by the comforting generosity of family meals in the South of France.
"The idea was to evoke that warm feeling you get when you come home for the weekend and your mother makes all of your favourite dishes," he explains. "Everyone is around the table sharing, and it brings a smile to your face for the rest of the week."
It's a sentiment that immediately comes through as the meal unfolds.

It begins with a selection of colourful starters designed for sharing –Smoked Cured Sardines served on grilled sourdough with romesco, crispy Sago & Mimolette "Arancini", and a wonderfully fresh Datterino Tomato Salad with burrata and basil oil. The bright yellow porcelain frames each dish beautifully without ever stealing the spotlight, adding little bursts of sunshine across the table.

The undisputed star, however, is Chef Loïc's Signature Roasted Yellow Chicken.
Served family-style alongside Niigata rice and a crisp salad, it's exactly the sort of dish that encourages everyone to reach across the table for another helping. Comforting, generous and wonderfully unpretentious, it perfectly captures the convivial spirit that both Louise and Christofle wanted to recreate.
Other highlights include delicate Clams with Nduja, Seaweed & Lemon Beurre Blanc, served in layered Riviera bowls that create an almost sunburst effect, and the wonderfully nostalgic "Maman Claudine" Choux Farci with foie gras and dry plums—a rich, comforting French classic that feels like something straight out of a family kitchen, elevated by thoughtful presentation.
Dessert continues the Mediterranean journey with an Amalfi Lemon Givré, combining lemon and basil sorbet inside a vibrant yellow setting that almost disappears into the matching porcelain beneath it. It's fresh, light and exactly what you want at the end of a summer-inspired meal.
What I perhaps appreciated most wasn't any particular dish or plate, but the way everything came together.
The leafy terrace. The colourful food. The sunshine-inspired porcelain. The relaxed pace of lunch. For a couple of hours, it genuinely felt as though Hong Kong had faded into the background and we'd been transported somewhere along the French Riviera.
It's also refreshing to see a heritage French maison like Christofle embracing a more contemporary vision of entertaining. While its craftsmanship remains rooted in nearly 200 years of history, this collaboration proves that beautiful tableware doesn't have to feel formal or intimidating. Instead, it becomes part of modern living – designed for long conversations, shared dishes and memorable meals with family and friends.
If you're already a Louise regular like me, this collaboration offers a wonderful new way to experience a restaurant you probably already love. And if you've somehow never been, this might just be the perfect excuse to book a table.
The Christofle x Louise collaboration runs until 31 August 2026 at La Terrace by Louise, PMQ, Central.
