Les Fils à Maman: Retro food in Hollywood Road

October 25th 2012

Listen up all you thirtysomethings, this is for you! Embrace your teenage side (no need to deny it, we’ve got one too) and head for dinner at Fils à Maman (Mama’s Boys). Absolutely everything about the décor at this new restaurant in Central will bring back fun flashes of French childhood from the Speak & Spell and the “mange-disque » walkman, to the “Bibliothèque verte” collection, and Oliv&Tom memorabilia! It’s a retro wonderland! On a food level, the menu really celebrates 80s style French cooking too: Babybel Croquettes, cordon bleu, Kinder and Nutella desserts! Believe us, they’ll get your taste buds going, and bring back some great food memories! You can chose between the menu and the specials written on old - school chalk board. The specials always include a butcher’s cut for the meat- eaters, a salad for the weight watchers, and a casserole and a soup too. Portions are good considering it’s a set lunch, but it seems like they’re even more generous at night, so no need for pre dinner snacks here! Once there, you will be given a warm welcome and the Fils à Maman loyalty card means you’re in for a foody bonus once your card is all stamped! Everyone’s a winner!
