Hotel Rachamankha in Chiang Mai

April 16th 2012

Let’s change scenery for a bit. Out with beach and white sand. Let’s head to Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand. After long hesitations and a few arguments with the hubby, we chose the Rachamankha, a small 24-room hotel. The verdict? Not bad at all! Even though it’s not this month’s fave, we must admit its qualities. The decor: yes it’s charming, Zen, pretty and typical. The restaurant: we like the patio/terrace, the dishes are good and the wine is delicious. The swimming pool: very pleasant, half shade-half sun and well hidden from the noise of the city. Basically, a quiet place where you will be temped to stay and chill out…And the Rachamankha is very well located. Just steps away, you will be able to visit a beautiful temple, shop a market or have a massage at the Oasis Spa (pure joy by the way). So we highly recommend this small unpretentious yet very enjoyable Relais&Chateaux.

A little excursion? Go and see an elephant show in the mountains, it’s fab! An original night out? Enjoy one dinner/show where you will try local dishes while watching a Thai dance show.
