Fancy a glass and a bite at Bistro du Vin?

December 6th 2012

If you’ve also got a weak spot for French cooking we suggest a trip to Davis Street ASAP because Kennedy Town’s new kid on the block, Bistro du Vin really got our taste buds going! It’s located just a few doors down from Bistronomique, and has been really tastefully decorated…and the food just speaks for itself. From duck confit, coq au vin and foie gras to ragout, moules/frites and terrine…as well as some classic desserts like madeleine and crème brûlée…Mmmmm! We really liked the menu’s mix of golden oldy dishes and traditional meals which are all especially tempting when the weather’s so wintry outside! There are a couple of less ‘obvious’ menu options too, but believe us, they were no less delicious! We tried two really tasty starters: goats cheese puff pastry parcel and salmon gravadlax, and for the next course we’d recommend the duck confit and the entrecote served with chips. After all that, see if you’ve still got space left for dessert- we were too stuffed! If you’re there for dinner, be sure to order a good bottle of wine and/ or swallow your food with a nice digestif (they’ve got a good choice: calvados, pear, plum etc). And voila; a 100% genuine French dining experience- and another fantastic reason to dine out French style in Hong Kong!
