There are some places in Hong Kong that become attached to a particular memory, and for me, Cardinal Point is one of them.
Two years ago, I spent New Year’s Eve up on this rooftop, watching the countdown and fireworks over Victoria Harbour, drinking considerably more than I should have and toasting the year ahead in style. Little did I know then that I was already pregnant (oupsie, sorry for all that Champagne baby), and that the year to come would turn out to be one of the best of my life. So yes, Cardinal Point will always hold a rather special place in my memory.
Now, the Central rooftop has reopened following a refresh, with a revamped terrace, new food and drinks programmes and an upgraded music experience. But fear not, the panoramic Hong Kong skyline and Victoria Harbour views that made it such a destination in the first place are still here, grand as ever.

Located on the 45th floor of Gloucester Tower at LANDMARK, Cardinal Point has given its indoor and outdoor spaces a more polished feel, with larger, more comfortable seating and wider tables designed for longer lunches, dinners and drinks. The outdoor bar has also been updated with blasted stainless steel detailing, adding a little more shine to the already rather spectacular setting.
Come for the view, stay for dinner The new food menu takes an Italian-American brasserie approach, with plenty of playful, international touches and dishes designed to work just as well alongside cocktails as they do for a proper meal.
For something to share, the “Always Truffling” section includes Skinny Fries (HK$130), Chorizo Cheese Bikini (HK$150) and Mushroom Croquettes (HK$160), while the homemade pasta selection includes Squid Ink Linguine (HK$200) and Beef Cheek Pappardelle (HK$220).
There are also Reuben Sliders on Hawaiian sweet rolls (HK$240), Chicken Parm (HK$200) and a Tostada Trio (HK$220), alongside wood-fired pizzas including The Antinori and Adam & Eve (HK$220 each). For something a little more substantial, there’s Steak & Fries (HK$300) and Wagyu Sliders made with Ozaki beef (HK$180). Dessert keeps things classic with Tiramisu (HK$120) and a Five-Layer Chocolate Cake(HK$140).
The cocktail list follows Cardinal Point’s playful, travel-inspired approach, with drinks divided into Refreshing & Bubbly, Sexy Tropical and High Spirited.

The rooftop’s transformation from daytime dining spot to late-night destination is also being given a boost with a new music programme Cardinal Point will host year-round residencies from Hong Kong DJs alongside performances by international acts, with a revamped sound system building on the venue’s original OJAS NYC installation. A newly lit outdoor DJ booth is now part of the terrace experience, making the transition from sunset drinks to late-night cocktails feel that much more seamless.
But honestly, with those views, I suspect the golden hour remains the real star of the show.
