A very yummy season

Autumn is definitely here: cooler days, early sunsets … Be prepared, winter is coming. And guess what? I am pretty excited about it! Yes because when I hear Autumn-Winter I am thinking: truffles, scallops, hot chocolate, oysters, comforting dishes … In a nutshell, I am thinking FOOD!
Hey, what’s wrong with treating yourself to comfort food? Nothing right? Here are my fav spots for autumn dishes this year.

Le Bistro Winebeast This Frenchy spot in Wan Chai is probably one of my fav spot in town. No matter the season, I just love the so tasty and colorful cuisine of Chef Johan Ducroquet. Been there for their newly released Autumn-Winter menu last week and once again, I had a blast.

The confit onion tart is just … super yummy! Crispy base, melting onions confit and perfectly poached egg … the ultimate autumn dish. For the main, I can only tell one thing: choice is hard! Confit beef paleron and pan-fried foie gras, veal tenderloin, confit farmhouse pork belly (perfectly caramelized and so tender and juicy), roasted half-pigeon (is there anything that says autumn better than a roasted pigeon?), Pithiviers of quail and foie gras – I must confess a real crush on this signature dish …
To pair with a glass of wine (or several)!

The Hong Kong Madame special crush: the so fresh and yet so Christmassy Poached Mandarine with star anise, chesnut mousse, meringue, ginger bread and pistachio ice-cream. Make sure to save some room for this dessert! And the super reasonable prices …

La Table de Patrick Did you know that behind famous Chez Patrick Delis in town was Chef Patrick Goubier? And did you know that Chef Patrick also have a fine dining restaurant La Table de Patrick, in Central?
I love the casual bistro environment of the delis but sometimes I am not against going fancy! And what is fancier – and yummier – than a full truffle diner? La Table de Patrick’s autumn tasting diner is upgradable to a full Alba truffle feast, a reasonable feast I must say since Chef Patrick Goubier offers shavings of the coveted nugget at cost price (based on market rate). Are you in for a truffle feast?

The Hong Kong Madame special crush: the Morel and black truffle egg foam with bread soldiers. Such a regressive dish!

On Dining I kinda wait eagerly for every new dish and new menu from Michelin-starred Chef Philippe Orrico. Egg has been one of his signature – if you haven’t try his 63 degrees slow cooked egg yet, you are definitely missing something -  and I cannot wait to try his new dish: the Scramble Eggs combine with risotto or Tagliolini.

But you know, I am feeling very trufflely lately and cannot recommend enough the Sea Urchin Tagliolini with lobster emulsion and a generous dose of white Alba truffle.

The Hong Kong Madame special crush: Jazz and Cocktails nights on Thursdays!
