Our two latest restaurant finds
Maison es – the little gem in Electric Street
It’s not exactly news : Star Street and its surrounding area is bubbling with great restaurants. Maison es is no exception! This 300% girlie hangout won us over the second we arrived. We love the celadon colour house front and the flowered entrance. Once inside this little nest, we feel like staying the whole day. Be warned, the décor is a bit OTT: flower wall paper, flower plates, flower paintings , baby pink foot stands for your handbags and what not. Who cares, this place is perfect to unleash your feminine side! We went all out and choose  the three-course menu. Cured salmon and lobster salad to start, both to die for. Followed by delightful crusted cod and lemon chicken, by now our taste buds are singing. Then dessert, the carrot cake is a must. Full marks to Esther Sham from Ta Pantry who opened this new restaurant. Grab your girlfriends and head over there (not sure your man would care for it) before it gets too crowded.

Dine Art Private Kitchen – A Feast for the eyes and your taste buds in Wong Chuk Hang!
New district, new vibe! Wong Chuk Hang, the hip area of Aberdeen, has yet another new private kitchen that will get foodies talking. It’s pretty, it’s arty, and tasty too! A hybrid concept we like a lot : an art gallery section to discover new artists do get your appetite going. We’re then seated at one of the tables to savour the symphony of Italians flavours that await us, and what a show! You can watch Chef Cosimo working behind the glass window that separates the kitchen from the dining room. Once the dishes arrive, it’s time to indulge! The set lunch menu: a soup, a salad, a main, and if you have a sweet tooth, add on dessert. The pumpkin soup was crazy good; the ricotta cheese and beetroot salad was lovely and refreshing, the rosemary pork filet melted in the mouth and the tiramisu to die for. Everything is beautifully presented, the service is great, a winner all round. For dinner you’ll need to be at least 10 to book the private kitchen. It’s a great place for a private gathering, a birthday, hen do, a farewell party or any other occasion to have fun. Chef Cosimo will look forward to delighting your taste buds. Enjoy!
