53 Hoi Ha – the wellness and yoga retreat we all need!

When you think about wellness retreat, you picture it in Bali or Thailand as an ‘Eat Pray Love’ moment, right? It also means to take days off, to jump on a plane, and in someway it is not the easiest thing to organize.
So when I have heard from Derek and his retreat in Hong Kong at 53 Hoi Ha in Sai Kung, I was super excited.

The day-retreat starts at the meeting point in Central Pier. The experience begins on your way to the peaceful village of Hoi Ha Wan where you can feel you’re leaving the fast-paced city life behind you. Derek’s house is pink, chic, comfy, and you may want to stay there forever! Just like home, I have enjoyed so much having space (which I forgot after 3 years in Hong Kong): a real big dining table, a comfy terrace and a wonderful roof top with THE view. How could you not reconnect with nature here?
My advices: switch off your phone (after doing an Instagram story on the roof top of course!) and enjoy every second of the retreat.

A typical day at 53 Hoi Ha includes 90-minute-yoga class (in the private room inside the lovely pink house), a delicious vegetarian lunch shared all together around the massive dining table, 2-hour-activity either stand-up paddle or kayak, and also chilling moments, nature walks, tea time (including a delicious sponge cake) and the way back to Central at the end of the day.

Derek’s happy place is a must try, and I am thinking to plan a day retreat once a month – a magical escape into the countryside where stress levels drop immediately and mind becomes peaceful.
Thank you Derek for this wonderful experience.
